This September heralds a new era for the education and support of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities. The Children and Families Act 2014 sets out major changes to the SEN system, at the heart of which is far greater choice and control for children, young people and their families. The duties on local authorities remain significant under the legislation; as this briefing highlights, while councils' resources are stretched, boroughs and their partners must collaborate to bring about meaningful and sustainable change.
To keep you ahead of the game in difficult times London Councils has reviewed and improved what we offer to members.
